I went to my first class in 2006 to try something new. I fell in love right away. I loved the movement, the messages and most of all savasana. At that time in my life, I never took time to be still and those moments of stillness and rest filled my cup. When I started yoga, I thought it was just something to do. The more I practiced, the more I discovered that yoga is a way of being. Yoga helped me discover my authentic self and my joy.
Why do you teach & practice yoga?
I began teaching in 2015 because of my love and gratitude for yoga and how it was helping me change my life. My yoga practice taught me that I could grow, learn and expand. I felt called to share it with others. I started teaching power yoga, then discovered that I was passionate about teaching the more feminine side of yoga including aroma-restore, a slower flow, yin, and power-yin. When I started teaching, I wanted to share my love of yoga and have more meaningful connections with others. I teach now to inspire others to grow, live authentically, and listen to their hearts. I continue to practice yoga to love my body, be in the moment and continue to grow into my most authentic and loving self.
Who is your greatest yoga influence or inspiration?
My greatest yoga influence and inspiration comes from my students. I am inspired when people come to yoga for the first time. I am lit up when people teach yoga for the first time. I am in awe when people show up devotedly to their practice week after week, taking time from their lives to simply be.
What does it mean to be a "Mountain Soul?"
A mountain soul is spiritually climbing to grow on their path with beauty all around to nourish and support. They have an immense love and connection to nature and the elements. A mountain soul is a majestic soul; connected and free.
Describe your favorite day.
My favorite day is on an adventure with my family or friends. Sunrise meditation on the beach with turtles, swimming, surfing, swimming again, hike, yummy healthy dinner with an exotic tropical cocktail, sunset, play cards, and bed early. In France, exploring the beautiful streets, old buildings, stunning art, beautiful dinner with organic wine – treasured moments. I love camping with a paddle board or kayaking down a Colorado River. A simple day of yoga, meditation and self-reflection.
