I found yoga in college as a way to manage my stress. There was a weekly yoga class that was offered at our school recreation center and I fell in love.
Why do you teach & practice yoga?
I practice yoga because it allows me to stay in the present moment and it offers opportunities to reflect and show gratitude. I teach yoga because I know how important it is in my life and I want to translate that message to my students. Watching my students learn and grow in their practice makes my heart happy.
Who is your greatest yoga influence or inspiration?
My greatest influences for my yoga practice and teaching are Julia Clarke, Gina Caputo, and Anita Claney.
What does it mean to be a "Mountain Soul?"
Being a "Mountain Soul" means that I embrace the mountain lifestyle of being active, while maintaining a balance of grace and ease to make my soul shine.
Describe your favorite day.
My favorite day always includes spending time with my family and friends. It includes a balance of being physically active outside - hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing (not all in the same day) - and enjoying some rest and relaxation - game time, wine time, good food, and great laughs.
